Our Story.

Hello! We are Barbara and Dana. We met in 2008 when we both worked at a local nonprofit. Eventually our offices were next door to one another, and in addition to colleagues, we became friends. In 2011, we decided to venture into the world of private practice. We shared a small office for one year while building our practices, and by 2012 we settled into our Eastown location on Lake Dr., where we were happily seeing clients for nine years. While the whole world was in upheaval during 2020, we decided it was time for a change, and sought a house for our practice home. 1422 Wealthy SE became available, and The Guest House GR was born. While we still practice independently, we wanted a name for the space that we share, and The Guest House (named after Rumi’s poem) seemed fitting for a therapeutic space. Take a moment to pause as you enter the foyer, and read the poem upon entry. As for the birds in the logo, that’s a story that may give you chills, and we love to tell it… just ask!
